Sandhills dove?

How's the Spring shaping up guys? Looking like it's going to be a good hatch? Much activity on the leks?

Can't wait til Sept!
 
Any rain yet? I hear the prairie is a tinder box. What effect is the heat/drought having on the sharpies and chickens?
 
doves will still be there, but it's going to be hot, with water sources like spilled over water tanks, or small marshes with vacant banks. It's dry there anyway, chickens and sharpies are adjusted to it, but it will be tougher for them as well. I will assume, that with thin cover, they will be wilder than normal, rising of the slope of a hill 200 yards away.
