could be my solution to water in this dry country- had to try it out on Shadow- filled the two water containers- slipped it over his head, adjusted it a bit- not o bad- about 3 min- had to take a couple pictures

ok- lets let you out with the other 2- opened the gate- Shadow soon forgot and headed out- whistle and they're coming in- lets see if I can get him in the frame running

The dog will definitely need extra water from hauling it around. Myself, I carry 1.5 liters of water and a makeshift bowl for the dog in my game bag.

out for a bit- think he was running for 10 min- not to bad a test- sure seems to be streamlined and stay in place

time for last picture- quite pleased

Brittchaser- I just wanted to try one out- actually- it's quite light- two .51 litter water bottles- we'll see how Shadow goes with it on on a couple hour hunt- 4 Britt's I have to carry quite a bit of water- if I want to hunt a couple hours- who knows- this was just a try

Shadow

I have to carry a lot of water in early Prairie Chicken season. Its hot and dry so you have to bring your own water.

I really like my WingWorks vest. It is pricey but makes carrying water much less of an issure with all the weight on your hips rather than your shoulders.

well- I was sort of joking on a post about if I could only get mine to carry their own water- then OkieGunner showed me a picture- heck- just had to give it a try- sort of chuckling you know- think Shadow thought I was nuts- something about- he didn't care to jump off the bench-

but he likes standing tall- so after a couple "up here" he jumped back up

Now, if you can train him to suck on the hose all by himself, then you have really done something!

Shadow,

It’s Great to see you give it a try. Like Setter Nut, I also do a bunch of early season Grouse hunting. Carrying water for 4-6 dogs can be a struggle. I think that lash-up will do the trick and lighten your load at the same time. :coolpics:

Did you order from the website I provided?

the bottles don't have hoses-

OKIEGunner- went to your suggested sight- looked at it- was going to order- but since I needed a couple things from Gun Dog Supply I ordered from them- drop shipped from the manufacturer

we've got a bit of left over snow in places- so I haven't hunted Shadow with it on yet- sure will though- and I'll post him on point-

I like it- pretty slick- thanks for giving me the heads up

Keep us posted, I'm sure that it will do the trick.........

2 hours into the hunt- he was covering ground like the other 2- didn't seem to slow him down at all- got another couple pictures as they were out there and spread out aways backing- took one then moved in closer for one, then closeup of Shadow- he'd been like this for awhile-

flushed a hen- called them all in- gave Shadow 1st drink since he was carrying- I like it- it never moved on him at all
