Report from annual Kansas hunting trip

I have seen the sex before while they are in the air. Been a while. Do not see enough quail now to notice. They have to fly just right in good light.

If you can tell the sex, your focus is great and you are probably shooting well.
 
It is not hard to tell the males from the females. The males have bright white patches on the side of the face, female have bronze marking there.

As long as you can see them from the side or head on, you can tell what they are.
