Releasing and shooting birds out of season?

Does anyone know if you're on private land, is it legal to purchase, release, and hunt birds out of season, if they're captive raised and released on your own property? I've looked on the DNR website but it doesn't seem to address such a scenario.

As a side note to further complicate things, there are wild birds on the property as well. Any information would help.
Thanks!

from what I understand if your using pen raised game birds for dog training (hunting them) it has to be done on a dog training permitted site.

you can not shot birds out of season on private land unless you have a permit to do so. there must be a minimum (someone correct me is I'm wrong) of 500 acres enrolled to qualify for this type of permit.

hope this helps.;)

Most states have provisions for some type of "dog training". That being said I personally would not want to release birds that may occur naturally for out of season shooting, instead I would opt for chukar or something else so as not to take any native birds out of season.

Illinois DNR requirements for dog training

here is the web site for Illinois dog training requirements.

information on having training birds

A good thing to purchase after you have designated a dog training area and have gotten your permit for having training birds is the bird banding stickers. They come in a roll of 1000 and are to be put around the birds leg while transporting them home from the dog training area.
