Recent Hunt in South Dakota

My wife and I had a great time with 3 young pups. Weather was good (real windy), but cold enough. The dogs are learning and had some troubles, but I am hoping this trip pays dividends for the future.

A good time is all that matters, Congrats on having a great hunt:10sign:

Getting your dogs out in the field and on Birds can do nothing but GOOD.
Glad to hear you had a good time, South Dakota has some beautiful country.

Wild SD roosters can be tough on dogs.
the dogs that are really good in phez country are the ones that live there and hunt 30-45 days out of the season. Just wish I had that opportunity...maybe my old lab would get really good at it! Nothing like gettin' your dog into birds!

nice pics Treedaddy, I just picked my 2nd Setter, a pup that could be a twin to the pup you have pictured on the tailgate with you, those chestnut markings are almost identical to my new famale!

Sounds like you all had fun!!! How many hours of driving was that???? Great photo's TD!!!!:10sign:

13 1/2 hours. We left at 8:00 PM made it to SD at 9:30 AM. I was hunting at 10:30. Not bad. My wife drove from St. Louis to South Dakota. I slept 2 or 3 hours while she drove. She drove the truck the whole time we were there and spotted birds and helped block. What a sport!

Took my wife hunting once. Got all exited when the first bird got up, then started crying when I shot it. Now she stays at home. Your lucky guy.
