Ready to Roll on 12/12

Buddy and I and his boy are going to the range tomorrow for a little trap tune up. First trip to Sd for his 12 year old son.

We head out on Monday for the week and have booked a trip for 12 hunters at one of our camps. Fortunately this camp did not see any decreases in bird numbers like rest of state did.

On top of that the owner tells me yesterday he has seen a completely albino pheasant in last two days standing in his yard and it has managed to elude the owner who wanted to take him to a taxidermist really bad.:D

I told my guys this and they are all jacked up to get him now.

Well we should have some pics and stories upon the return. I'm told the birds are wild and spooky and that means one thing......Deploy "Operation Pheasant Storm". Also known as "Shock and Cackle". Or in other words....You better know your damn "Role Based Pheasant Hunting".

Have a good one Chris. I plan to get out for a bit on Sun for some of these MN birds that are not out there, I have been seeing. I want to shoot a couple to make sure my eyes are not playing tricks on me.:D

We went out to the range today and the kid out shoot us. I am feeling bad for the pheasants. The kid is a natural born killer. Exciting to see in this day and age. He got his first deer this year and you could tell that was very exciting for him. He shot 4 game farm pheasants this year but these will be his first truly wild SD pheasants.

Like the rest of us, he's up for getting "educated" by the birds.:D

Our group has been out at WRA since Dec. 7th. The bird numbers have been excellent
This was our first trip out here. For us it takes a little bit to learn the land but the number of birds is amazing. We have 10 guys and we have not shot our limit each day, but we have been close. It has been an excellent trip.

Thanks for the report Danier. Looks like we will have to work for them. Leave a couple for me. I think we will have 11 guys in our group.

Glad to hear you are seeing good numbers.

The group is back from the trip and wrecked for life due to beyond explainable pheasant numbers. Beyond that we just had a good time and really enjoyed each others company.

We had a 12 year old on the hunt that got his first wild roosts and managed to get 4 or so. He's bringing his 11 year brother with next year (who will be 12 then).

Remember the albino? Well 3 people told me he flew right over my head when we had surrounded the shelterbelt but i never saw him. It was all you could do to keep one shell in the chamber as rooster after rooster flew over your head.

Birds were as wild as any place but the "Shock & Cackle" system worked like a charm.

Here's a couple pics or the group and the happy father and son.

By the way.....Merry Christmas to all!!
