Puppy Progress?

She is from certainty labs out of Ohio.we have the shepherd and a 13 year old lab shepherd that unfortunately we don't think we will have much longer:(

Nice Photo, looks like the little gal has found a buddy!

I'm sure the pup has played a part in Her perking up. :)

This weather sure isn't helping any puppy progress. I hope to get some birds next weekend but the snow and ice needs to melt first.

You have that right this weather stinks Drake is about to go nuts. I think were heading out to Pittsburgh to run in a competition against all the guys coming back from nationals should be interested.

Good luck! Today's sun helped melt a good bit of snow and ice but tomorrow may add some of it back.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

This weather really does stink, they have done a ton of work in South Jersey for the quail but the poor birds are gettin hammered!

Yes can't wait for a break in this weather. We went for a walk saturday. It was ok as long as we stayed on the snowmobile tracks, but if we stepped off we broke through a foot of snow, which made walking exhausting. The dogs enjoyed getting out though.

Sometimes you make do with what you have. I threw the training dummy with some pheasant feathers wrapped around it just so Champ could feel some feathers in his mouth. He did like to bring it back to me but I made sure to keep the throws short.

I really hope that I can get him on some birds next weekend. Just need the snow to melt. I may just have to take all 3 dogs for a run today despite the snow. They are going nuts in the house.

The extra time got the better of me and I took the dogs to run. I wasn't sure how Champ would do since he just turned 14 weeks old but his racing through the house convinced me to take him along. Nittany and Blitz had no problem with the snow and the cover seems to be in good shape with the weather we've been having.

Champ did his best to keep up.

There is still some cover and food left in the food plot. I didn't see any pheasant tracks but I did see some signs of deer.

When I got back to the truck I loaded up Nittany and Blitz. I put a short lead on Champ and let him check out the pines since I know the holdover pheasants like to hang out in that area when the weather is rough. Champ did a good job of working some ground scent and I saw this guy running on the edge of the road.

Champ then walked the edge of the pines and I know he was getting a nose full of birds and the number of bird tracks was pretty good. He had a quick point before a bunch of hens flushed from the other side of the pines.

We kept walking the pines and there were some more hens in there.

The above picture is actually from when the rooster flushed and Champ was watching him fly off. He was cackling the entire way.

It was good to be out and hopefully the weather improves so I can do some more work with Champ.

Looking good great photos we can't catch a break here I had transmission troubles today it's at the shop. We might be home doing next to nothing again Drakes not going to be happy and we have a large layer of ice on our snow. great to see some birds making it looks like fun.

I really like the picture of Champ with the PF sign! Who knew..that pheasants could survive this long:D Amazing what you can do with a little effort! That is one cool place..give the birds some cover and they will do just fine!

Hey...did I read that right, the little guy had his first point! Nice report and pictures!
Any thoughts on keeping a lead on him while doing the retrieving training?

How are the rest of you guys doing with your pups?
