Breeding: Cedarwoods Comfortably Numb x Homeland Amelia. Pups ready to go home August 2024, hunting home preferred.

Sire: Cedarwoods Comfortably Numb (Lido): NA 112 Prize 1, UT 204 Prize 1. Running the the NAVHDA Invitational 2024.

Dam: Homeland Amelia (Nash): NA 107 Prize 1, UPT 127 Prize 3.

I am the owner of the Sire. If you look at his pedigree, you will see why he has turned out the way he has. To see him in action, I have a small Youtube channel with some of our hunts. We start with sharpies and huns in ND and end with quail in AZ, with tons of Dakota pheasants in between. Youtube

If you're interested, DM me and I'll get you in touch with Kent, the owner of the dam. Pedigree's attached below.

Good loooking dogs. I really like the shorter, tight coats.
Thanks. His coat is excellent. Harsh wire but with very little fluff. Not as dense as my DD, but he can run in the hot weather way better and the cold still seems to not affect him much.

I have a Drahthaar and a PP and a German Shepherd mutt. The wirehairs shed maybe 20% what the shepherd does. Possibly less. It's not zero though.

Mutthunt thank you for posting the litter. UPH is where I got started with pudelpointers 2008 uncle buck posted a litter . I was fortunate to get a ufemale Czech mates Basque Classic , she was a wonderfull hunter and companion. She passed in 21 at 13years . When I decided to breed Homeland Amelia (Nash) I searched for a stud with some Czechmates genetics I found Cedarwoods Comfortably Numb (Lido) as Mutthunt posted he is a real good dog. This litter should be a NA breeders award litter . We have three males left looking for hunting homes , if you are interested please call Kent Johnson 763 -614-6870

Funny you should mention Uncle Buck. I haven't seen him on here in years. Appears he hasn't posted since 2017. I have hunted with him a couple of times. Great guy and good dogs. I might have to try and give him a call and see how he is doing.

How did the invitational go?
I saw quite a few PP.s and Wirehairs. Was there even 1 Weim?
Lido failed with 191/200 points. Without getting too far into it, we had a very difficult brace mate to back...a French Britt that was maybe 16 inches tall. The one point she had in short cover he backed, but the two she had in thicker cover he never saw her and never backed. The judges scored him a 2 in backing and a 3 is the minimum to pass. All the points he missed were due to backing.

He had 6 finds in the field, including one that he stood for over 5 minutes while they looked for the other dog. All sequences were perfection. His water work was spot on as well.

I had words with the judges, and despite my anger with with outcome Lido did everything I asked of him.

There was at least one weim that ran the brace before me. I don't think that dog passed judging by the conversation the handler was having with the judges.

That sounds like a tough go of it. The invitational is so different from the other navhda tests. You are to be commended for training a dog to that level ! Hope you were still able to enjoy the event and camaraderie.

Congradulations on getting to the event if I understand backing it is a visual experience so if the cover is so heavy the judges can’t find the dog how do they expect the dog to honor what he can’t see.
Dakotazeb I briefly talked with Buck by the Pudelpointer booth at Pheasant fest in Sioux Falls 2024. Remembering the dogs and hunts we had over the years good times . There was another dog at the invitational I was interested it was VC Treibens Ada she has the same breeding as Nash’s mother Treibens Kate . So with Lido/Nash genetics the pups should do well on Natural Ability! Kent
