Got out for the woodcock opener this foggy, humid morning.






The bird dog is tired and happy now.

I am in the bird-poor state of South Carolina.

Some of both. We will keep some for the season, some will stay all year long, and some will head on down to Ga/Fl for sunnier skies and bikini weather.

Found a few more yesterday. Birds in this spot were a little more jumpy, maybe hunted already. Dang pine trees and brush kept jumping right in front of my sure-to-be kill shots.

That’s great. We have some woodcock here in AR, but I’ve never seen one. But then again, I haven’t hunted them either.
