Pointer Trainer

I have a friend looking for a pointer trainer within a couple hundred miles of the Black Hills (SD), any direction, or even in eastern part of SD as he travels that way quite a bit. The dog is actually an Irish Setter, but out of a good hunting line.

From when I've been looking in the past it appears that it's difficult to find a good pointing dog trainer in the Dakotas. I'm not saying there aren't but I was unable to locate one a year or two ago. I could recommend one in the Denver area if he is interested.

Talk with Dave Bruns at Minndakota Kennel just north of Mitchell. I've seen his trained dogs, and they're outstanding. He's very knowledgable about dogs and has a very cool and unique approach. All dogs are trained using the Silent Command System as taught by Rick and Ronnie Smith of Team Huntsmith. I'm hoping to get my pup to him this summer.

Get the American Field, dozens of field trial trainers summer on the Dakota prairies within a short drive, take hunting dogs as well as trial dogs and know their stuff, many of them 2nd or 3rd generation Hall of Fame credentials.
