Picked up a new toy...

Just traded for a mint condition Winchester 101 Pigeon Grade XTR 20 gauge. Gun points well and is very light. I'm anxious to give it a try. I'll post pics later. Just sharing my excitement...I love 20 gauge O/U's.

Note the word "traded"...I traded two 1911's for it.

Ok, you got me there. I happen to miss the "traded". You just knew I have to give you a bad time. :) Maybe I should come through Amarillo on my way back to SD and see that new shootin' iron.

C'mon...plenty of them to shoot and a warm bed and hot meal. My current shotgun stock:

Browning Cynergy Feather 20
Browning Cynergy Field 20
Browning Citori White Lightning Feather 16
Ithaca/SKB 500 20
Winchester 101 Pigeon Grade 20
Remington 1100 Sporting 12
Remington 870 Tactical 20
Mossberg 500 Tactical 12
Beretta A400 28

Believe it or not, my favorite is the Cynergy Field. They're all nice but that dude just does everything right...fit, feel, and performance is better than the rest.

I too own a cynergy feather and a cynergy field both in 20. You are absolutely correct, they are hard to put down. If you don’t mind the look of extended chokes the muller featherlites in invector plus took my cynergys from excellent patterns to absolutely unbelievable patterns. By the way congrats on the new gun!

Thanks AteUp...I'm going to check on those chokes. The reason I like the field better is balance. The feather is so light, it seems as if I get it to my shoulder and then the barrel arrives later. The field moves as one.

JMC... I too came to that same conclusion but then made some modifications to the feather( granted my cynergys are the newer versions with the flat inflex pads and regular stocks) I had gunsmith fit a kickeez pad which is about 3/4 ounce heavier than the inflex pad. I then switched to the muller featherlite chokes which took a full ounce compared to factory chokes off the muzzle. In the end it gives me a finished product of gun that balances right at the hinge and weights 5#11oz. Which is 10ozs. Lighter than my field, don’t get me wrong I love my field and it is my dove and practice gun as it fits me exactly the same as my feather but the feather is much more enjoyable to carry on those long days in Montana and Texas when I walk and carry more than I shoot. By the way I shoot RST 3/4 ounce 1100 FPS at everything from sharpies to blues. Only when I’m after December/January pheasants do I shoot 7/8 to 1 oz. copper or nickel plated stuff. If you do the pattern testing you will find what muller says to be true, what else are you gonna do in the off season. LOL

Atta boy a Browning guy tried and true.

I see a A400 28ga. on that list. What can you say about that one?

Geez, I just realized I've also turned into a Browning guy. Even bought a new Browning cap. :)

Browning 1960 "Sweet Sixteen"
Browning Citori White Lightning 16
Browning BSS Sporter 20

LOL...I forgot to list my 68 A5 "Sweet Sixteen", so I guess I am a Browning guy.
