Pheasant Loads for older sxs's like fox, LC Smith nontoxic

Looking to see what you guys are shooting for older doubles that might be short chambered, not your traditional 2.75 chamber for nontoxic. Have or do you shoot Boss or some other equivalent? Don't want to split barrels. thanks in advance.

I'm looking at a model 21, but I think they can shoot most modern loads. But I'll avoid steel if I get the gun because one barrel is fixed full.

I noticed a 21 16 gauge on guns Intl about a month ago…28”, double triggers, choked IC/M…fairly light for a 21…was at a Cabela’s in Michigan…opened at 9am, called at 9 am, gun was gone…was gonna spend $25 and have it shipped to Woodbury…my gunsmith is nearby and he’s a 21 ‘aholic…knows good from not-so-good…that’s alright, just had my ‘16 Silverado fixed up (rocker panels replaced) and scheduled a rebuild (above roofline) of my chimney…my gun budget is spoken for for awhile! Already was, actually…

Yeah, it becomes acceptable to lug an auto loaded with steel at those prices! I do have a few $50 boxes of 28 gauge shells for WPA’s when sharpie hunting…don’t usually burn through the ammo…and I’m an ok shot on the prairie grouse…probably jinxed myself now…
