Heading North today and I-29 has more hunting traffic than I've seen combined in the last two years. Pheasants beware and good luck gentlemen! Hope the birds are wanting to play and if you come across a black truck just keep on moving, nothing to see here.

The Friday before last years SD opener, I ran up to Scheels in Sioux Falls. It was quite the festive affair. I had never seen so many dogs in a Scheels store. Good luck to all of you who get to hunt tomorrow. My first chance to get out this season will be Tuesday or Wednesday in MN.

In about 2008 I had the chance to hunt the opener on some private land around Pierre. We hit town and the boys and I ran over to the Dakota Mart to pick up a couple things. The sporting goods store in the basement was elbow to elbow. Guys were 3 deep at the counter checking out. It was a pretty cool experience and the boys had a blast

Not bad where I am; motels are not full, not seeing many hunters once out of town. Hunting was good, done quick. Watching baseball.
