Oregon Department of Agriculture announced Thursday that it?s putting restrictions on

FINALLY!! Great post Chuck! I am amazed at the amount of insect life I witnessed on the top of my mower deck after clipping some CP 37 and CP25 nesting plantings for pheasants.

The issue of bee die-off is one thing but what other insects are being disposed of by the increased use of pesticides in agriculture.

The awareness of the "beneficial" side of insects needs to be weighed with the use of these chemicals.

There are many that also suspect pheasant number declines are tied to increased use of pesticides in Ag production.

As many of you know, newly hatched pheasant broods dine on insects for the first 2 months of their life during summer months.

I noticed the incident that sparked this happen in town. That is typical most residential applicators way over apply chemicals. They should ban all non farmers from applying lawn chemicals.

It is interesting that most of Europe has already made this move and the most progressive nation in the world is riding drag. It's about time! Unfortunately, the change is slow. Why do we have to wait until things are almost a disaster before we address it? Same with drilling in the gulf. Took a disaster for us to do what we should have all along. Baby steps!
