One I couldn't resist

Have never owned or shot a 16 ga but have always had a desire to own one. Filled that desire last week when I pulled the trigger on a Browning Lightning Feather in 16 Ga. Can't wait for it to arrive and start to play with it a little bit. Anyone else have experience with the Lightnings or Feathers or 16's in general?

I've had a 16 ga. White Lightning for several years and love the gun. 16's are all I shoot anymore. Got an A5 Sweet Sixteen last year fell in love with it also.

Never owned a Citori, but you can't beat a 16 in the upland fields IMHO.
Would not want to be without my sxs or my Ithaca 37!

I have a 16 ga. Citori Grade 1 Lightning, a Stevens 5100 16 ga. SxS, and last but not least, a Ithaca 37 16 ga. pump. All great guns and light enough to carry all day without wearing you out.

Matt, I have had a boat load of guns over the years but only one 16ga O/U and that was a Baikal. Not exactly a high grade gun but filled the bill at the time.

I have 5 16ga's right now.

1- Browning A5 Sweet Sixteen vent rib 28" Mod
1- Browning A5 American made standard 16ga 26" Imp/Cyl Matt Rib.
1- Winchester model 12 2-3/4" 16ga 28" Mod
1- Winchester 1897 16ga 2-3/4" 28" Mod.
1- Ithaca (King's Ferry produced) model 37 16ga with two barrels. 1- 28' high rib trap and 1-28" standard vent rib both with choke tubes and wood to die for.

I need a Browning Citori 16ga O/U myself. I found one that would fill the bill but I don't have $2200 right now. Congrats on your new purchase. Post us up some pics when you get a chance. Love them 16's :10sign:

Congrats on the gun Matt. My wish list currently would be a 725 in 20ga., but a 16 would also be sweet.

Good luck with the Lightning.

I have two Ithaca Model 37 16-gauges – one made by the original company in the 1950s and the other produced just a couple of years ago by the reborn company in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. I also have old and new versions of the 12 and the 20.

The Model 37 is my favorite gun, and 16 is my preferred gauge.

I had a Citori Lightning Feather 16 until last year. It was nice to carry, but with the hard buttplate instead of a pad, it was "thumping" the shoulder a little too hard with some of the heavy loads. I sold it and bought a Gran Lightning 16. It is a little heavier and with better grade of wood, but still handles well. It's close to the same weight as my 20 Ga Classic Lightning, but hits birds more like a 12 Ga.
