Well guys I'm off to Lewistown, MT for the NSTRA Purina Endurance Championship (a national trial) to be held Sept. 5-8. The drawing just came out for the trial and there are 112 top dogs from all over the country. The format for this trial is "Beat your Bracemate" all through the trial. So regardless of your score as long as you beat your bracemate you advance. The first brace we are matched against an English Setter from Texas. Regardless of the outcome it should be a good time and a great learning experience.
They are also holding a regular trial on Sept. 1-2 which I also entered. Trying to keep Elle in shape this summer has been a challenge with the heat and humidity. This morning was finally cooler and she did 6.5 miles with me on my bike. We covered that distance in a little over 30 minutes and that included a water break at the half way mark. I've got a little over a month to get her in peak condition. Also need to find some quail to do some field work with.
