I'm jealous of you guys that have the early seasons! I don't mind a drive but it's just a bit further than a weekend trip unfortunately

Just a bit over 3 weeks. NODak here we come. Only one springer with me this year. Older girl blew TPLO last year and with what the surgery and rehab set me back i just can’t afford for this to happen again. She will stay home and spend her time in the field locally. Bird numbers in a large part of the state look good.

I just can't take it much longer! I'm going to invade Minnesota to get a jump on the Iowa and Nebraska seasons. Looks like there is enough public ground within a 2 hour drive from home to justify it. I'd like to run way up North and try to find a grouse, but that will depend on a few other variables.

I will be heading north with a 10 month old puppy in about 3 weeks. It has been a long time since I have hunted with a young dog so we will see how that turns out. She is a little fireball for sure.

I have been spoiled with good dog work for about twenty years. Basically let them out and follow them. I have returned to a pointer and will have a bit of a re learning curve. She is off the chain drive wise so it is going to be an adventure for sure.
