NEWS FLASH: Drought ends at Ponderosa

One big rain event of 5 plus inches is the only thing that will put any water in Cedar Bluff. Sorry but I would take it. But it is going to take several big rain events to bring it back up to full pool.

Had just short of 7 inches here on Thursday of this week. Lot of rain when most of it comes in 5-6 hours. Lot’s of water issues including my basement

It is coming down pretty good right now and there was no rain in the forecast. Couldn't come at a better time, it was 101 today.
Good deal, maybe some fill in Cedar Bluff? I hope.
Pretty skies, but my phone doesn't do it justice to the full, bright double rainbows.

Brown Dog-
Saw your post, then it vanished. Yes, anywhere I travel out here has great crops. Lots of good looking dryland corn and milo. Still not seeing the pheasants at the Ponderosa. Calling it "Quail & Tail" out here. Decent quail numbers and unbelievable cottontail numbers.

Sorry Maynard. Yeah I took it down. I was watching Larry Steckline this morning and he commented on wheat futures. I was commenting on what I had heard but decided I should take it down because I’m not a farmer and shouldn’t pretend to know more than I do.

On a different note do you go into the dodge house on opening weekend, I guess it was probably 6-7 years ago someone stopped in the lobby and wished us all luck.
Looking back on it I always kind of wondered if it was Mr Byrd. Whoever it was I thought it was I thought it was pretty friendly of him.

Brown Dog-
I figured the GPS coordinates you gave on your honey hole was the reason you deleted.
Wasn't me in the Dodge House. Sounds like a guy I might know though. Was he tall and slender, not short and fat like me?

lol unfortunately no honey holes here. My cousins put back together a hunt they use to do. It started out in ingalls their dad was the superintendent of schools there. It slowly switched over to bazine . Last year second week of the season bazine that group killed more rattlesnakes than pheasants ,,two of them true story unheard of around there.
I didn’t remember much about the gentleman in the lobby , I think he was a little taller. I do remember the dodge house especially the buffet I think I ate half the tray of enchiladas!

When I lived in Bazine, I would see the occasional rattlesnake.
