Hi, anyone have a recommendation for an upscale lodge near Rapid City for the 2015 opener? Want to take the wives but they probably wouldn't be too thrilled to share a bunkhouse. If you know what I mean lol!

Rapid City is quite a ways out of the Pheasant belt. You want to look in the Pierre or Chamberlain area.

Upper left side of this page click on hunting directory then click on South Dakota..

Yea I would stick to east river unless you have other reasons for going to Rapid City. The big lodge around me is Dakota Hunting Farms in Hecla. Good folks and a giant lodge.

The Firesteel Creek Lodge near Isabel, SD is about as "Upscale" as I know in South Dakota. Take a look at their web site.

It's not cheap, about $4k per person for a 3 day hunt. I've never been there but I know a couple guys that guide there.

Thank you for the replies!

Thank you all for the replies I will check these out. The reason I was asking near Rapid City is because our wives want to see Mt. Rushmore so we will be flying into RC. I also didn't want to have to drive more than a few hours to go hunt and then have to drive back to RC to fly home. Thanks again for the tip offs. Hope to see you all out there some day.:)

Something in the Murdo to Presho area would get you to about two hours from Rapid and you would be on the now 80mph Interstate.
Though I have not checked on status, there was to be a new destination resort near Newcastle WY on the west side of Black Hills providing pheasant hunting.
