New SD Pheasant Distribution Map out

That's a cool map. How accurate have you found it to be in the past? I haven't hunted SD, but am dying to give it a shot.

Chad, like any distribution map there are pockets of good and bad.

If you are an analyst it is just some data to consider in grand scheme of things.

The counties are flagged that show the highest road count surveys so there you go! The rest is good ole fashioned legwork.

Interesting Chris. I glaced at the previous years map and I noticed the general population numbers shift northeast/central vs. southeast/central.

The good news I guarantee habitat is rocking and rolling down south at Cattail Haven & Pheasant Camp Lodge... Never fails. If you build it, roosters will flock.

My county is green, but I can tell you that can be misleading. Like Chris has said, there are pockets of birds that do not match the color scheme. It will be interesting to see the roadside survey and compare it to this map.

The 2009 August brood count data summarized and full report are available on the link. Click on outlook.

Your right the distribution link runs you to an '08 map.
