New O/U…How did I do?

As I get older I get, let’s say more fiscally conservative. I’m staring down the barrel of a retirement/Fixed income….. can’t believe I’m saying those words. Anyway had Hotel points $450. to buy Cabela’s Gift cards, 118.00 in points and Cabela’s 10% member Mondays are back(supposedly to Memorial Day) honestly I had another $1100 in visa gift cards, but couldn’t figure out out how to apply them. So I’ll just socialize those dollars

As far as the Franchi Instinct, it’s the first gun that fits virtually every time I shoulder it without feeling or seeming, cheap or chintzy to me. I realize it’s not a Primo Primo unit, but the fit seems like it’s flawless. I really wanted a Browning and would have been happy to spend a few extra $ but never shouldered one that fit. With all my travel, I walk into as many gun shops as I can, and occasionally go out of my way to step inside one.

Would have loved to purchase it from a local independent FFL but about 40% savings even with Tax, is hard to beat.

You did great, is it a 12 or 20? If a gun fits you and shoots where you look that is all you need. You could have spent $100,000 on a Purdy that didn’t fit you and it would be useless. Congrats and get after some clays with it ASAP. Franchi makes a great shotgun.

Thanks, it’s a 20. I do have an Affinity right now and it fits much the same, I’ve been happy with it so far.

That’s awesome, let us know how it shoots. Those instincts look great although I’ve never shouldered one. I did shoot an affinity for years and it fit me like a glove just like you.

have a 16 and shoot it well. It’s really light the lightest gun in my collection. They generally are heavily canted for a right handed shooter, maybe why it feels so good? I am a lefty. I had the stock bent back. He got it straight but didn’t dare go any farther with it. I paid x for it then another 300$ to get it to fit somewhat. They really are a nice gun for the money.

Yeah, the additional fit fee made my sphincter pucker and which is what kept me from a Citori.

I did shoulder the Instinct SLX Model, and nearly pulled the trigger on that, but the same sphincter cried internally in my head, in his best Morgan Freeman voice and said, “Now Craig…is the extra $750 a wise choice for a field gun?”

I second you on the fit, the only stock guns I've shouldered that fit me so far have been are Franchi's and the CZ Drake. I haven't checked as many premium guns (I'm not big on trying what I can't buy), but the few Benelli's and Brownings I've tried just haven't fit. Fwiw the ATI Crusader I found at the pawn shop has been my best shotgun to date. I'll take the right fit over pretty wood or a fancy name any day.

I don't know what the deal is with some manufacturers coming out with 15-inch length of pull from the factory. My buddy bought an 828u. It's kind of pretty in its own way but the second I pulled it up:confused:.

It’s about time they come out with a LOP to fit those of us who are not vertically challenged. I can shoot a 15” LOP much better than a 14”.
