Finally got around to building my drawers for hunting. Let me know what you guys think? Took me a couple days to build.

Superb craftsmanship - nicely done!

Great work! Can you share a few details about materials-specifically those rollers and drawer guides and the source for the handle/locks?

The entire thing is made from maple 3/4 plywood, cuts and finishes beautifully! The bearings are actually rollerblade bearings I bought off Amazon and just ran bolts through them, the track is 1X1 aluminum tubing bolted to the sides of the drawers, glides in between the top and bottom bearing. There are wings on the side mounted with piano hinge so I can fold them in and remove the entire setup in one piece. Carpeted the top and drawers, put 3/4 aluminum angle on front edge to help hold carpet down and protect the edge from getting beat up when loading and unloading. I also put angle aluminum on the corners of the drawers to help with wear and tear and it gives it a nice finished look. I finished everything off with bedliner on everything for looks and it's tough as hell! I got the locking drawer handles from northern tool. Over all I think it turned out great. Next is the 4 dog box, 2 wide and 2 deep. Got my fans and doors picked out and will be ordering next week.

I think this is the first time I've complemented a man on his drawers.

From the appearance and the explanation of construction, I'm thinking this isn't your first rodeo.

Beautifully done. Congratulations.

Unfortunately no plans it was all in my head with the exception of the measurements and I just started building.

very very nice! Have you sketched out the plans after the build? To help us amateurs in the future?:D

What is your total build cost?

Well if I had to build it again it would go a lot faster now that I have one under my belt, my total cost for everything was somewhere in between $600-625 and that was over half in plywood at $40 a sheet. Also the cost would have gone down a lot had I just made the main shell for the drawers 48" wide but I went wheel well to wheel well and that was 51" so I had to use 4 sheets of plywood instead of just 2, so that was $80 dollars that could be saved. I also had alot of extra hardware that I didn't use that was probably another $30 dollars. If I did it again I think I would save the money and just go 48" wide and make blocks on the side to make it snug in between the wheel wells. And wouldn't need all the extra hardware. I bet I could make it again for around $500

Nicely done - looks like it will last a life-time! I would have left everything natural vs the lining - easier to clean? Let us know how it works out...

Great looking set of drawers. I built a rather crude set 2 years ago. With the idea that if it worked well I would build a nicer set. It does work well, so we'll that I never went to the trouble of building another set. From my experience the most important design feature you can make is rubber gaskets for your drawers. You can't believe how much dust will get in them without it. Just 10 miles down a dry dirt road will show you where any leaks are.

Nice job, love that stelleto too :). I did mine about the same and used the roll on bed liner on the whole platform. It stays in there year round. So I can hose it out. Your price is about the same as me too. I put a 10 gallon water tank in the front side of the box, so the drawers are just long enough for a gun with 32 inch barrels. Otherwise same concept. You will love it. Looks great.

An absolute stellar design.  I had long considered options and never bit off on it especially with the costs of the 60 inch slides. (Ironic I say that given the $$ paid on shotguns, truck, collars, dogs)

I was wondering about if you have any mechanical or fixed blocking to prevent over-extensions of the drawers

The locking block that the latch catches when you close the handle stops the drawers from extending all the way out
