Nesting Season soon upon us.

Well I had hopes with limited rain and highs in the 70's and 80's but it looks like we are back in the cold wet rainy spring we have endured since 2007. it would sure be nice for this stalled out front to clear out of here by May, give these birds a fighting chance to bring off a decent hatch. Should be plenty of insects and weeds if this rain ever stops! Anybody got any sightings or here any calling?

Yes have seen a few quail and actually saw a pair today but most of the quail Ive seen have been where I try and help them out by having crp and cp33 and food plots. Also have heard a few calling too. I might try and get some bigger quail and raise them to set out but its just not the same as wild quail and predators get most of them. Does anyone have any good ideas on how Mo. can have more quail other than having better habitat?

Weather could sure help us! We need a warm, drier June. Even the turkeys are suffering from the lousy spring weather the last couple of years. I see lots of under utilized habitat now. Sure we can always use more habitat, but we need some nesting success to make use of it. Unfortunately we can't control the weather.
