"Try and be nice ..." Why start now? :D

I've shot several turkeys in the Manhattan area. Maybe 6 or 7 since I have lived here... They usually have characteristics of hybrids. But the turkeys I used to hunt around Topeka and Lawrence looked like they were 100% easterns.

Tuttle and Council Grove have lots of turkeys, as does Ft Riley if you don't mind following the special regs on post.

That is my feeling as well. Lots of turkeys in the area.

If you could ride your mule this far east I could show you a few:D

Come to WI. I have hundreds of them at a couple of my places.

Last time out I found about 15 pheasants hanging with a flock of 30 turkeys. Figure that the turkeys make it easier for the pheasants by clearing snow to feed and watching for predators. Or maybe those pheasants think their turkeys?

Haven't noticed them roosting with the gobblers but maybe they are!

pheasants and turkey

very interesting, haven't seen that but it makes at least in some sense, they must get along at some point cause pheasants are parasitic during nesting time

ya think mules are stubborn, wait till ya see me. would like to shoot and eastern sometime even though they can't be much dumber than merriams or rio's. would like to try though, in the mean time i will try and keep up the good work
