Nebraska's new CRP map.

The big boys may just figure they need more acres to make more if the ROI is low on the acres they have, I hope not, but that may be the mentality as there I am believe there are even fewer farmers now than in the 80's and they are covering more acres.

"I lose 10? a bushel, but I make it up on volume."

Or something to that effect. If corn goes much lower, no one is going to be making money.

CRP payments lag the farm prices, signing up now I think will garner the highest payment for a while, who knows how long.

I just today signed a contract for 60 more acres. 'Course, if I knew what the future will bring I would be so rich I wouldn't be worrying about 60 acres of CRP.
 
Some of these guys are still operating on some old money, and can take a hit too.

Do a bit of farming myself so I understand, but just a dumb cowboy and plowboy at the end of the day that likes to shoot a few birds now and then.
