This is how my season ended.... the last Saturday. Pretty good way to end!

now that's funny. I loved Babe Winkleman. I never met him, but did eat breakfast with " the sportsman's friend" in the early 70's while out pheasant hunting with my dad. We tried to get him to invite us out for a hunt, as he had all the hook-ups.

Nice pictures Spence, looks like a lot of fun.
 
The snow photo is great and it gives a hint that at least one hunt was done in beautiful postrock country.

Great pictures, we took the camera and shot a few action shots but never as many as you would like. The season starting out really bad but then got better and better as the year went along. Where I hunt there is a lot of pasture land that had not been grazed in years. The cover on this land held a lot of birds in places we never hunted before. A lot of old ponds bottom areas that had cattails in it. Once we shifted to hunting these areas we started doing really well. Our normal hunting areas held some birds but not like these areas. Totally shifted hunting cover. Last weekend my dog had at least in the 2.5 days we hunted pointed over 20 roosters. Limited out the last 3 days I hunted. Still too much cover out there. When all said I had one of the best years in a long time but would not have done nearlly as well if we not tried something different.
