I feed NutriSource but won a big bag of ProPlan Performance at last weekend's NSTRA trial. Thought I might use it up by mixing it with my NutriSource. Maybe a 4:1 or 3:1 ratio NutrisourceroPlan. Anyone see any problem in doing this?
I don't think it would be an issue at those ratios, however maybe somebody you know feeds PP that would be able to take it off your hands at a real good price.
Not if the dogs tolerate it and have no health issues which a higher protein/fat level might raise a concern...tho the story is somewhat still out on 30%.
Persoanlly, I'd save it for later in the season when the oomph may mean more but...I'm no trialer.
Otherwise, mixing is just more work.
No problem, I do and so does everyone else. They give it away every time we place too. A win is the big 36 or what ever lb bag and the other 3 placements get 8lbs. It is close to NS any way. I had a dog or two that got gunky ears from it feeding full time.Otherwise I liked it. Dogs do well muscle, energy wise on it. With mixing it in 50-50 or not at all when out. I have never had a gunky ear since in close to 3 years. (corn, I suspect)
personally, unless in a controlled temperature environment, i wouldn't leave dog food lay around for more than 3-4 months max. there is always the opportunity for it to turn rancid, unless stored in a cool, dry place.
