The Pudelpointers will be invading Kansas next weekend. Sworn to secrecy on location, but mentioned fairly often recently. I am intrested in quail, not the Rooties so much.
they got the corn out of my backyard and I went hunting yesterday for the last hour. Was only gone 45 minutes!

nice! what a beautiful dog and good looking birds on the ground! i've had tons of fun hunting the small bird so far. until crops are completely out that's what i'll focus on.

Have fun here in Kansas. The Kansas rifle deer season opens on 12/2 and runs until 12/13 so be aware that the country will be full the next two weekends. If you are in Sumner Country I would love to see your dogs.
 
Deer Season

Never been to Kansas during rifle season and was wondering how crazy it will be during that time. I don't venture out into the country during slug season here in Iowa due to the masses driving and firing. Is it a weekend heavy festival with a slowdown midweek or is it a wall to wall high-powered frenzy?
 
Everyone who can take vacation in my plant is taking vacation for deer season. There will be a little less blasting going on during the week, but there will be some shooting going on every day of deer season. I've not seen people driving around shooting out the window in KS as much as I have in other states. Still doesn't necessarily mean it will be safe for the dogs if they don't have orange on. I don't think there are many deer hunters hunting WIHA CRP fields.....?
 
Yep the deer hunters are out in full force today. Keep your eyes and ears open for them. And good luck.

Don't worry About Uncle Buck....... I'll take good care of him. He said he likes it in the can (Beer that is):D

Uncle Buck, grab the key's, turn on the heat and make yourself at home. I'll show up early morning.
We got a dusting of snow today but it's going to get cold tonight so I-70 should be a mother in the morning with a dog trailer

I'll bring the starter pistol, Quail are for counting and 747 are for shooting.
