I have enjoyed reading all the posts for so long I figured I would sign on. I'm relatively new to pheasant hunting but have enjoyed chasing ruffies for sheesh --30 years??? -- I got my first pheasant in the shadow of the Foley, Minn. watertower in 2009 and have been chasing them when I can ever since. I can usually be found working with my two partners, Daisy and Buck, black and yellow labs, respectively. I am from St. Paul, Minn. and am eager to find out more about hunting these critters. Hint to any fellow ruffed grousers out there -- wait a bit before you shoot. A painful lesson, but not as painful as it was to the rooster. Poof.

Now back to reading up on all those Minnesota posts to find out where to ambush `em next fall.

Thanks,

Matt

Welcome to UPH, Matt. Happy to have a member from my old home town. I was born and raised in the Humboldt HS area. I lived there until I went in the Navy for the Korean War............Bob

Welcome to the site. I hope you guys are having a better spring than we here in Iowa are. It's been wet and cold until this weekend, and now just wet. Sounds like you guys had a tornado in your area or maybe a little north this weekend?

Thanks for the warm welcome

What a great greeting. Yep, we had a little weather up north of us. The way the housing market is going, kinda wish it would have got us, but then I might be looking for new dogs... No deal.

Welcome Matt. Been more drumming in the woods this Spring!
