FCS,

Looking good. I would be interested on how did you get that project to the top of the "Honey-Do List".:D

We just bought a new house and I am converting this building into a kennel:

The building was used for some type of business by the previous owner and needed some retrofitting. It did have water, heat, AC, and good lighting. It also had its own septic system already in. I added a floor drain, removed the benches, removed all the floor tiles. Now I need to epoxy the floor and then mount the kennels to the floor. I have room for 5- 5' x 10' kennels with room to add a few more in the future by removing a non-load bearing wall.

I made these little dog beds for the pups out of PVC and outdoor fabric:

Testing it out:

Block done and drain trenches poured. I got the plates down now but thats it till it gives me a break with the hot weather. Doing construction all week, it is very hard to build when you get home. This heat is keeping me in the AC at the end of the day. Hope to frame in a couple weeks when we finish up a big siding job were doing. This dam heat just takes it out of me. It will have 6 runs with capability for 8 more when I start training and boarding. Inside 4x5', and out side 5x10'. Roof over all, & insulated, Out side runs all screened in. Has a shower for dogs or people raised up. A bath room, office/guest 1/4s/ whelping privacy room. Out side has a nice screened in sitting area for a table and chairs, a nice place to sip a cold one and BS after training. It will be a nicer home then mine, LOL.

Sure, LOL. Well I plan to spend quite alot of time in the dog house:D. So It has to be cozy. Plus people come and stay over for some trials or picking up a dog etc. And they can stay if they have a long drive, or wish to train on the weekend. We will have a place to hang out as well if we ever get a new house built too. It has all the necessary amenity's incorperated in. It will be attatched to the other building later and that can be foo foo suites:D. And Last a big fenced in run excersize area out back.

You must be hanging around pointer people to much to think a dog needs all that pampering. Give a lab some shade in the summer and a straw bale in the winter and they are good to go.

Seriously nice set up. Some day we need to talk pups.

Looking good. Wish my house had some in-floor heating. Would be happy to leave for a stay at a kennel like that. too bad you're too far!

can't wait to see your finished pics.best of luck.
