Just missed you Banger

Given all the high winds predicted for this weekend, I decided to take Friday off and visit my old haunts in the Fedora/Artesien area. Guess I missed you by a day. Hunted my old placae, a few birds there but wild, managed to get one. Hunted a couple pubbies and got some hens pointed.I wanted to get Flirt on a bunch of birds and she pointed a good number. She is 9 months old now and we got done what we wanted to accomplish. She tracks like a magnet and really had a nice point on the third rooster. I got two just walking ditch mile south of Dennis' house. Birds were moving back to grass about 1:30. Dogs had 3 hours of work so went to Cabela's.
Had a great season. The Doland Hunt was excellent as usual. Hunted Gregory, Highmore and one other spot I won't reveal publically and the hunting was not to bad in my neighborhood near Sioux Falls tho the pubbies got crowded with the fair weatherhunters out on those nice weekends.
Here's flirt with yesterdays birds. She is from Quebec and only barks in French.

Uncle Buck, I hunted over in Minnesota yesterday with goldeneye abut decided not to go back today because of the weather forecast. They had said a 70% chance of rain/freezing rain/snow with winds 25-35 and gusts to 45. Turned out to be a nice day. We had blue skies and sun shine this morning before the clouds rolled in. Still no precip and winds have been under 10 mph most of the day. the weatherman really pissed me off today. Could have been hunting instead of sitting home watching bowl games.

Ya, I know what you mean. It was not windy AM so planned one hour hunt in a private field south of Sioux Falls, but I had good burning conditions and wanted to get rid of some trash---to dry for last two months. Was just about done at 1:00PM when the wind came up and we canceled. Today is worse so looks like I am done for year.

I enjoy all the pictures that you post. I don't know how you do it. it seems like I always forget to take pics.

I usually have camera in vehicle as I use it for work too. Now I need to leave the gun in the car and take some pics of the dogs pointing. It's tough in the thick cover to se the dog tho.

Glad to hear you had a good time....we ran into a bunch of birds directly east of dennis' house throughout the season...new crp on the north side of the road, kind of near the big slough a bit further north in that pasture. Hope you and the family are well...hope to cross paths this year...sorry it didn't happen this year. Take care, thanks for checking in!
