Ithaca xl300 20 gauge repair

I did a little research on the disassembly of the XL300 and it appears it's a little tricky to get the bolt handle out. It doesn't just pull out like most other autos. I'd recommend a gunsmith.

You say yours broke. Did it break off and part of it remain in the bolt?

Thanks for the reply. It broke you can pull it out. I can see were a piece broke off. I noticed it very loose after a shot. I saw something about that but wasn't sure if it was true.

Thanks

ps It is the gun I put a short stock on to teach kids how to shoot.

From what I read there appears to be a pin on the bottom of the bolt that must be depressed to release the bolt handle. I think you actually have to remove the trigger assembly to get at it. Now don't quote me on it as I could be wrong. But maybe that pin broke and that's why the bolt handle is loose. Like I said earlier, I think your best bet is to take it to a good gunsmith.
