Picked it up at the Gunshow this past weekend, made by SKB 28" full mod barrels, fits like a glove can't wait to get it in the field. Anyone have any experience with these OU's?

I had one just like it back in the mid 70's. Beautiful gun and fit me well also. Problem was I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. Hope you have better luck. Those Ithaca/SKB's are some great guns.

Thanks for reply, I haven't shot it yet bores look like new.

I've got a 500 and wouldn't trade it for the world.

i had one in a trap model....beautiful gun. carried it on my first pheasant hunt just because I had it....that think must have weighed 9 pounds. came home from trip and bought a 24" benelli ultra light that weighs 6 pounds. you have a great looking gun.

Thanks, 24" seems really short for pheasant poison

You have to remember that autos and pumps are 3 or so inches longer because of the action so an auto with 24" barrels is like a SxS or O/U with 27" barrels. Nice gun btw.

I understand autos and pumps have the added action length but barrel length is just that "barrel length" the back of the barrel on a SXS or OU sits further back because of the absence of a action therefore a 30" barreled OU would be about the same overall length as a 26" auto. Thanks for the compliment.
