Ideal bird hunting rig?

Good point wildcat, I have a regular cab '05 gmc z71 with a 2" leveling kit and 285/70/17 bfg all terrains. Perfect for sand, mud, snow, or rocks. I can't say I've had it stuck yet and I've been a few harry situations. My only complaint is it is to capable off road and it has some scratches and dents from going way to far on jeep trails in the woods.:D

By the way we have a sports mobile dealer in the "big city" to our south and I can say from first hand experience that those vans are amazing. Saw one a few years back on the top of one of our 4x4 trails where only built jeeps, toyotas, and blazers should have been.

If the snow or mud gets to deep I bring out my beast. '73 k5 blazer, 4 speed, 454, 33" swampers, lincoln locker rear axle. If this thing gets stuck I'm in trouble.

nice rig, But i'll take you on. Dodge 3500 8' bed and the 5.7 hemi. Can tow everything. Boats, rv's and all. Had the cummings and was great until fuel cost got out of control. I'm trying to sell this if you are interested. Think I'll go with a smaller 4x4 in a Benz.

i'll take both of you on whith the 1500 quad cab 360 in the driveway hemi has nothing on old school 360

i get a decent 15 mpg unless the pheasant are flyin out the end then its about 8 and all i hall is bodies and dogs and gear no need for a 1ton

That great Mpg, That's what I get on a good day empty. Best I've ever gotten is 21 on the Highway. I was just stirring the pot. :D

what the ole GCB did not tell ya is ifin the birds are comng up at the end of the road ya better have your seat belt on, logs cross the road, ditches, cows crossen the road, heck it don,t matter that dodge is gonna go down the road. ( : alright GCB I am awaiting fur it ( :

the only reason the logs were in the road is becouse this damn kansas wind blew over the trees and the cattle well i just thought that if i got you to a bigger target you could hit it maybe :D

1996 Toyota Landcruiser (stock, no modifications)- purchased used and saved a ton of $$$ by buying used
2 people, 3 dog crates enough gear for a four day bird hunt or a week long camping trip, been an absolute beast- 4x4 w/locking differentials and 16+mpg
hitch rack for extra gas and cooler, roof rack for extra gear, going to build a slide out drawer for the guns and miscellaneous stuff
great rig for just about any road conditons

Yep, one of the best ever made!

I have a 96' landcruiser with 2.5" lift with factory lockers front and rear with 285-75-16 cooper SST's mud tires. I have the 2nd and 3rd row seats out for room for gear and camping, no more setting up tent

Nice rig SG. Does it have selectable lockers or automatic? I almost bought an '07 tacoma the other day but it just had the posi rear not a selectable locker. Sometimes I need that extra traction.

Hi QH,
yep selectable lockers front and rear...boy does it make a differance!

Ya dont get a posi, they just slip and were out soon...wait for a selectable locker, it will be worth the wait.

Yeah I know exactly what you meen. My brothers z71 has an automatic locking rear end and it goes places a full size truck shouldn't go.:D I can only imagine the trouble I could get into with lockers front and rear. Can you say rubicon?
