Tell me about it. I just had one of my hunting buddies buy a Caesar Guerini 20 ga on sale at Scheels in Sioux Falls. List $5100.00 on sale for $2999.00. Nice gun for a great price. My wife asked me what I wanted that is better than that----still trying to figure out if she was serious or not.. Damm
A outstanding buy SDJ. I have made a couple deals like that in the past.
I have wanted a Golden clays sub gauge gun for a long time. I don't see me getting one anytime to soon. Ah, that's what dreams are for. Pray for a miracle.
The Golden Clays have some of nicest wood on any gun at any given price. The wood is one of the reason's I have been wanting one for so long. This is a nice one but far from the nicest ones I have seen. They are incredible and would be very sweet to carry on those Indian summer fall days, chasing upland birds with one of my bird dogs.
I don't like the rib, sight or forearm. I like the low, narrow rib. The superposed style forearm and white ray-bar sight with mid bead. It has the high, wide skeet style rib, semi beaver-tail forearm and Hi-Vis style front sight but pretty nice wood. I may be able to live with it but I think I would wait for something closer to what I would want.
I decided long ago to never buy shotguns that have more gold than my teeth do or have names that I can neither pronounce nor spell. I did fall prey to the charms of a Benelli Legacy 28-gauge however & I wouldn't have acquired that except it was a smokin' deal, but the rest of my shotties are of the plain-Jane field grade variety. That's a pretty piece, however.
