Huns?

I’ve heard rumors of their existence but have never seen one in South Dakota. I take 2 trips a year and really love the state. I’d like to chase some Huns and was looking for advice on general areas. Appreciate any help and would gladly help anyone looking to get into some Blue Grouse here in Colorado. 1691121826189.jpeg

I think that Huns have become nearly non-existant in South Dakota. You might bump a covey once in a great while during a pheasant hunt but that's about it. I haven't seen a Hun in SD for many years. If you really want to hunt Huns you need to look at western North Dakota or Montana.

Second question would be what cover to look for, from what i read, it sounds like cut ag fields?

I saw a pair of huns in the SE part of the state last year in july or aug. Those were the first ones I've ever seen in SD and I've been taking 2-3 trips each season since 2015. Like Dakotazeb said, if you want huns, western ND or MT is the place to go.
