Anyone watch the hunting show called Gun It on Versus? Part of the show tonight was a SD road hunt in an RV. In SD do you need your gun in a case inside the vehicle? Can you have a loaded gun in the car? These guys came piling out the RV and were blazing away. A definate new low for televised hunting.

SD loaded with no case is A OK. All though there are very specific rules on road hunting I doubt they followed them all.

with shows like that on its no wonder us sportsman can't get a fair shake and others are trying to take our rights away

What ever happened to the sportmans code of "Fair Chase?" Those TV hunters must work hand in hand with pita and other Anti-groups...........Bob

gove county brit,
You got it right there, just what we need, I will have to catch the show than complain to the producers, if enough guys do maybe they will produce better shows.

your right on track bob I think they share the same table and have the same underliein reasons

What do you mean? Here is what it says on his shows webpage.

Gun It with Benny Spies breathes new life into outdoor television with an authentic look at how America really hunts.

Read this thread and turned on VS in my hotel room and just happened to be on the Pheasant Hunting. Not my favorite show, but still like watching bird hunting.

That looks like a good way to get shot, hunting on the road right next to a piece with a posted no hunting.

maybe it's just me...

I watched the video on the site.
I don't know but they were posting while some other guys were walking the field towards them. You can hunt posted land with permission. The road could have been the farmers driveway. You have to admit this guy would be a hoot to hunt with...lol If you could remember because of the night before......
I don't know him or watched any of his shows other than that one so I can't form an opinion as of yet. Any way people who don't hunt wouldn't watch the channel even.

Well, I'm sure ya'll have heard the term..blooming idiot"... I think you've just witnessed FULL bloom"...
I'm reminded of one of my first trips to KS years ago. I was as green as the grass and being shown a few 'hot spots' by a friend-of-a-friend from the area.
About 2 oclocjk in the afternoon, he turns down a driveway about 1/4 mile long. As we approach the farmhouse, I can see a 4'X8' sheet of plywood with "NO HUNTING" spray painted to take up the entire 32 sq ft.
When I pointed at the sign, and gave him a questioning look, his only reply was "Yea, we prolly should hurry through here!"...

I only counted about 5 laws they broke filming that. Think I am going to send that link over to SD fish and game and get their opinion.

Great point Bob. By the way peta, Stands for, People eating tasty animals.:D

I cant understand why they would air this %^$*.

Those bunch of knuckleheads make it hard for everyone....versus must not know what a true hunter is.....no wonder good hunters have a hard time with landowners getting permission...with that type of stuff going on. Hopefully Versus figures it out...but I doubt it. Damn shame the Fish and Wildlife wasnt around to check these so called hunters out. These guys set us all back a good bit.

Kansas you can have a loaded gun in your vehicle- you can drive the roads- jump out and shoot- as long as you are so many feet from the vehicle

I watched maybe 60 vehicles do it here last season- and some had dog trailers- WIHA areas- you can drive arround them all day- seen it

I don't call that hunting- but some do and some have wives and kids with them- if it's legal- what's wrong with it

Most all of these TV hunting shows have outlived their usefullness. Canned hunts with clowns that are not good hunters are now the norm. Most of the guys posting here have more hunt saavy in their pinky than these so-called "TV experts". The pressure to get enough kill scenes in every 1/2 hour show brings out the worst in the hunters/outfitters. And 20 minutes of every show is nothing but commercials!
