gsp vs english setter!!!

well now that Ive got your attention!!! I dont want to turn this into a my dog is better than your dog debate,so. One question plain and simple.Out of the 2 breeds which one do you think has the stronger nose?

I have owned both and my GSP had a better nose for tracking and the setters were better at senting the wind and pointing a bird at a greater distance. But my every dog is different this was the difference betwwen my dogs.

I see many GSP's and English Setters in the NSTRA trials I attend. Both breeds do an outstanding job. I don't think you can say one breed has a superior nose to the other. I would say there are more differences within each breed than between the breeds.

I agree. I have hunted with both and seen some with great noses and some not so good. I hunted with a GSP last year that couldn't find a pheasant if you put them in a box with each other.
