Goodbye Good Old Boots

Goodbye, you good old pair of boots. You served me well and never gave me a blister in countless miles afield over the years. But you got some holes in you, not because you weren't tough, but because even the best of boots can only take so much. I understood. And I hope you understand how thankful I am for giving me your all. <sniff, snork>

sorry for your loss:(

When mine get that old, they usually just wander off on their own . . .

Wait! Don't do it! Those boots have a number of years left in them. Some boot dressing, new laces and a Dr. Scholls pad and you're good to go. If your piggies aren't hanging out there's still life in there. Boots that fit are hard to come by.

Now if you decide to get rid of that old shotgun next, I can help you with that . . .

One of the great reasons I've kept coming back to UPH forum is the unstinting generosity of the members here, giving of themselves in spite of whatever hardship an offer might cause them ! I tear up, sometimes.

(sniffle, sniffle)

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your offer, koja. You are a Prince among Men!!!

:) :D :)

Had 'em rebuilt once.

I try, Kismet. 'Tis the least I could do for one reeling in the throes of loss.

This is the right way to say goodbye. I had a pair walk off my porch one night (somebody stole them). They were outside because they were wet and muddy. That is the wrong way to say goodbye and I still don't have closure!

This is a fun thread.:)
I'm gonna have to take a pic.
My Wife thinks I'm getting Old, sometimes.
I have this two year old pair, been though some hikes here and there.
Up here in the cold I put on these rubbers. NO! NO!
Those that go over boots:eek: Get a life You guys,
Anyway, these boots are going strong.

OH YEAH! by the way -42 this morning, high of -12. Yep I'm pounding down a couple.

The boots in the image were about 25-30 years old when the picture was taken. I got older, my feet got bigger, dunno why. Still remember the feeling when I, a city dweller at the time, could put them on and get out for a very rare hunting day. As I recall they are Kangaroo skin Irish Setters, and made me feel "rich."

If you don't know what I mean, I can't really explain it to you. :)

Closure is so important. Seek counseling before you do something you'll later regret or are scarred and impaired for life over your loss. ;)

Here, not the one I was looking for, but old friends after their last trip afield:

Those boots have a soul. I can sense it.

Kismet,

wow that old. Mine never make it that long. Let's just say with my ample size:), I am pretty hard on a pair of boots. Those looked pretty darn comfortable though

Great pic Kis. I have a pair of Russell moccasins I hope last me that long. 3 seasons in them so far and I'm debating having them resoled or holding out for another season.
