To all of the guys taking to the fields tomorrow, good luck! May your shooting be true and days be fruitful.

Stay safe!

Thanks to all Good Luck> Saw several birds on the way in to _________________ LOL but really, saw a few, looks like a nice opener!!

Headed quail hunting tomorrow. Really looking forward to seeing Obie put the wheels to the ground and seeing him do his thing.

Everyone be safe and remember it's more about the memories made with family and friends than the number of birds killed.

I have not done a kansas opener in 5 years or so. As I was driving home from work tonight passed several trucks heading west. It always takes me back to being a teenager and the excitement I had when we would take off in the caravan on that friday at 11 or so. We would make it to hays about dinner and then turn north for the last 2 hrs or so. I remember sitting in that restaurant with the other kids thinking about flushing pheasants that would be bagged the next day. Sleep would barely come but that feeling of that first field of the day will never leave me no matter how old I get. Those were years when limits came easy, 150 bird weekends were not uncommon, but unlike the birds shot the memories of how the experience made me feel is what I remember. My father died when I was 18 and hunting lost its priority for me for a few years. I intend to get out with my boys a little later in the year when it slows down some. I hope you all make some great memories this weekend and stay safe.

I have to go in to work tomorrow.
But I often do not do a lot of hunting opening weekend.

Have fun guys.

Wolf

Good luck to you guys! Be safe and successful. I'll see your beautiful Kansas prairie in less than a week. Can't wait!

Good luck to everyone. Stay safe out there. Heading out in a half hour. Staying local so we will see. Molly has not left my side since the shotgun and vest came out last night! She thinks I might forget to take her along!!

Ha one of my Goldens did that! I had a habit of bringing my gear up from the basement and into the dining room(my wife loves that) . My Golden would sleep on my jacket etc that nite! No way in H I Was getting out of the house without her.

Good luck to all of my KS friends ! Plenty of pics for us computer jockeys please!!:D
