Wow, that looks great. I lived in Sumner County and hunted there a lot in the 60's and early 70's. It looks like the pheasant population has improved greatly since then. When two of us hunted, it was rare to take more than two roosters in a day.
Back then most farmers took pride in their perfectly tilled fields with absolutely bare dirt between rows of the crop. If not you were called a "trash farmer". The low-till/no-till farming has helped immensely with cover, especially in that part of the country.
