Good hunting in Southcentral KS

Congrats & Nice Pic!!! Glad somebody had some luck! Always like to see the father/son thing...

You must have been hunting some awful good private or secret ground where the birds have not been banged at all year - cause this late in the season with the warm weather & the snow all gone, most of the wild-roosters around here have suddenly turned into psychotic & unapproachable little Tasmanian devils! :)

nice

Nice looking birds CH.

BTW - I've got access to some chukar and will be planning some hunts around Iola in Feb/March if you would want to join us.

Good private ground is sure a blessing! Keep that boy in birds, we need more like him out there! Nice Day!!! Like your shirt!

Wow, that looks great. I lived in Sumner County and hunted there a lot in the 60's and early 70's. It looks like the pheasant population has improved greatly since then. When two of us hunted, it was rare to take more than two roosters in a day.

Back then most farmers took pride in their perfectly tilled fields with absolutely bare dirt between rows of the crop. If not you were called a "trash farmer". The low-till/no-till farming has helped immensely with cover, especially in that part of the country.

More Sumner County pic

Here is a picture from our group hunt on 12/29/09. It was on land that had not been hunted until after deer season. Sumner County is on the edge of phesant country if you go 20 miles east of here there is not a phesant to be found.
