Gloves

My shooting hand fingers are tough to keep warm. It wasn't until I started using the disposable little chemical heaters inside the glove that I really was able to keep them warm. No more safety fumbles now. I think dude is asking for tougher rather than warmer gloves though.

6 degrees and 35 mph winds last Thursday when we started hunting. You’re tougher than me if you do that gloveless.

Anyone try flocked lined latex gloves under a leather work glove? Should stop the wind, the flock lining would reduce sweating and the durability of a leather work glove is hard to beat.

I’ve used latex as liners for a while and the flock lining adds insulation as well. I’ve used this combination in the past for hunting, but it’s been a while. And I’m out of the flock lined gloves.

I wouldn't even consider venturing out in that. I'd wait until he wind subsided.

I've hunted in temps below zero a few times but there was no wind.

I just picked up these last Friday and wore them through the rain/snow on Saturday and was quite impressed. Thin enough to manipulate everything yet kept my hands warm. https://www.scheels.com/p/04355203174
I have these but the previous year when they were all leather. Great fit, thin liner and move well. I went to SF Scheels on my last trip and the guy in store said theyve been redesigned. Big big mistake

I see Pyke has there gloves half off right now. I have not tried them, I general roll with the brown bulk gloves from TC, or any farm store. The Pyke stuff is always real high quality. It's made in America unlike the Kuiu and some other well know brands. I personally try to avoid supporting the CCP but sometimes it's unavoidable. I have the pants, hats, vest, and a few shirts all very well made. He makes most of the stuff in a rented garage in Spring Lake MI. I've been there. He also stands behind the products. It's not cheap but the old adage still stands you get what you pay for.
