get together and sporting clays shoot

Tom,(pair of labs) and myself were wondering if anyone on here might be interested in getting together for a friendly sporting clays shoot some time before say September. We were thinking of having the shoot at Quail Run sporting clays range in Kiowa.
If you are interested please let me know what month would be best for you, would a Saturday or Sunday be better for you and if you would like to have lunch after the shoot or not. Once I have some feed back from you guys we can work out the details.

i would definitely be interested in this I think either day would work for me. please keep us posted on possible dates i missed the last one the colorado guys did because of work so I would love to get in on this one.

Chris

not getting much response to this, was thinking about inviting some of the guys from neighboring states to join us but with no more response then I have received so far not to sure that would be smart.

It seems as though I have lost the second page of post on here, is anyone else experiencing this as well. If you posted on here after the above post please repost.
I posted then about having the get together the first of June or the end of May, please give me some feed back. I will get some donuts to bring out and they have coffee at the club house. I just will need a count so I can know how many donuts to buy.
If you have a son or daughter or spouse you want to bring that would be fine.
We could perhaps bring some items you might want to sell as well, training collars, collars or what ever.
Please get back with me about May or June is best for you and how many that will be coming.
Jim

shoot

mustistuff,
Glad to hear it, when would be good for you, May or June, Saturday or Sunday
for my it would be first week of june, turkey is over for sure and either day would work, mostly i am flexible, mornings might be better due to heat but i survived kansas the other day in my blind and it was hot

cheers

jim,

glad you reposted this because I received an email saying you had posted but when I got online to read it the site was down. The first weekend in june would work best for me. My moms in town the last weekend of may, pretty sure it wouldn't go over well to bail on her to shoot. Hope we can get this going it would be nice to meet some of you guys. It would be myself and maybe one other but could give you those details once a date is set. Have a good one.

Chris

Chris,
You could bring your Mom but she would probably want to shoot and out shoot all of us :) i will get with Jerry at Quail run and see if he has anything going on for the first of June. If not that sounds as good a time as any, turkey season will be over and it hopefully won't be to hot, but if we shoot around 9:30- 10:00 we should be alright.
Jim

Guys I talked to Jerry at Quail Run and he has nothing special planned for the 1st of June so that is the day we will meet and shoot.
We will meet at 9:30 am as some of you guys may be driving aways to get there so I do not want to make it any sooner. I will have donuts and there is coffee inside the club house, just leave a little change or so in the cup for coffee donations. I will be sitting at the picnic table on the outside of the club house with the donuts and please let me know how many are coming with you so I can have enough donuts.
You will have to sign in inside the club house and those who have never shot there before will have to sign a standard release form.
We should be able to start shooting at 10:00 am be done by lunch time. After we are through paying for the shooting we can either stay there and eat as they can serve lunch if they know how many are coming, usually the cost is $10 I believe and I will make sure if that is what we want to do otherwise there are a couple restaurants in Kiowa.
For those who have never been to Quail Run here are the direction
From Colorado Springs
Go east on platte/ highway 24 , from the Diamond Shamrock station in Falcon you continue going East for about 5.5 miles where you will turn left (north) onto the elbert/kiowa road. Stay on this road until it deadends at highway 86 at which time you will turn left (west) on to 86 and continue until you come to county road 27. Turn right (north) and follow it until you come to the sign to Quail run, you will then turn right (east) continue until you come to the club house on the left. It is right after you pass the only house on the right.
From the North coming down I-25
Come south on I-25 until you come to the exit 182 and take highway 86, go through Franktown and elizabeth and keep going until you get to county rd 27 than continue on co rd 27 as above.
From I-70
Go to exit 304, I think it is the Bennett/Kiowa road. Take the road to Kiowa than turn right ( west) on to highway 86 and go west until you get to co Rd 27, turn right ( north) and go to the Quail Run sign.
From the south
Take I-25 to Colorado Springs than look at the directions to Quail Run from Co. Springs above.
The phone number to Quail Run is 303 6463868
and my cell number is 719 640 2837
Again let me know how many are coming with you so I can have enough donuts and if you want to eat there at Quail Run, go to Kiowa or just go home.
Hope to see you there.
