fluid film for guns

Has anyone used this for there guns? It says on the can it can be used. I use it on my snowplow and salt spreader. It is the best lubricant I have ever used.

I don't know about firearms, but I'll try it on my mower deck & a few other things. Thanks for the post.

Thank you for the link. I'm with koja48. Don't know about firearms. If you try it, let us know what you think.

Did some research on-line. Stuff gets rave reviews, but has a 3-year shelf life & will thicken & plug aerosol cans if it's old stock or stored in a too-hot or too-cold environment. It's made with lanolin, so this displaced Montanan might really like the stuff! Per what I read, a lot of John Deere & other tractor dealers carry it. It is also available for brush-on or spray-on applicators (needs to be thinned with vegetable oil/motor oil to be used via compressor & spray gun). Sounds like good stuff, but I doubt I'll use it on my guns, as the "film" always remains in a liquid state, so this could result in propagating cracks in fine gun stocks, but there are NO solvents in it & it is an extremely long-lasting lubricant. Folks (and firms) also undercoat vehicles with it to protect from corrosion in the winter. Good prices for 2-aerosol cans & up on E-Bay with free shipping & those were the best prices I found. I'll buy a can at the local Deere dealer next time I'm over that way & give it a whirl. If nothing else, I'll spray the snow shovels & blade to prevent snow from sticking. Ought to quiet door hinges & other frequently-exercised swivel/hinge-points for a long time too.

My term paper is done now . . .

I used some on my browning a-5 today had it set on heavy loads. I only put just a tad on magazine tube. My a-5 normally would eject light loads with it set on heavy but not this good. I will definitly have to wipe it almost clean to shoot heavy. I am going to try it this year. As I said before nothing beats on my salt spreader or anything that squeaks. It is a bit expensive but if you don't have to use it very often it doesn't matter. I think if you go to plowsite.com you can get a small can for free sent to you.
