First time out pheasant hunting with my new pup!!!

Just as my title says, Today was opening day for pheasant in NH and today was also my 7 month old GSP's first day hunting pheasant.All the hours and money i have tied up in her sure did pay off.Had our limit within an hr. then working her for a friend in a differant area and he to got his limit.She for sure aimed to please today and now she is on her dog bed sleeping soundly!!!
 
Yes, a dog makes a lot of difference in Bird hunting. There will be times you just go hunting to watch the dog work her magic........Bob

oh yes if i pick up her collar off the counter and she hears her bell ring she gets all worked up!
 
Glad you had a great day! There's nothing like it as far as I'm concerned. I usually go for my dog's sake. I love watching her work and seeing her "lights" come on. Congrats on a great dog! I've never seen an ugly birddog!

Limits in NH. Very impressive! Did not know NH was a pheasant state.

Pheasant season: Oct. 1-Dec. 31
Daily limit: 2
Season limit: 10
Pheasant license required ($26)

Pheasant season opens October 1 and continues through December 31. There is a daily bag limit of 2 and a season limit of 10. A hunter may harvest two hens as part of the daily limit. To hunt pheasant, you need a valid New Hampshire hunting license and a pheasant license.
This fall, 13,500 adult ring-necked pheasants will be released in all 10 counties during the three-month season, an average of 160 birds per site.

pretty cool what if most states did this... Would be great for alot of hunters especially for hunters who can't afford to travel.:)

thanks and yes there is alot of pheasant up here. any reason why there is not a NH section in the forum?
 
Sounds like a great hunt! Are there any WILD pheasants in NH?
