Youngest's son,first recovered bird.

This bird almost got away,if he had held for a couple of mins,we would of walked past him.He was buried in the weeds, and the dogs where already past him.He blew up out of those weeds right in the middle of the group, whch we where moving onto another part of the field, out of a tailwater,or waterway. He flew out behind us,and my son was directly behind me,so I got a great view of him shooting his 870.He was actually was empty,so he had to pump a round in first, then he fired of two quick shots, dropping the bird with the second. The other guy walking his my oldest,he was just as happy as I was for his little bro.

There wasn't much doubt he was going to recover that one. He hit it w/ the majority of his pattern and it wasn't a simple straight away shot, he had to follow it across while pumping. I'm sure he'll shoot many more in his day:)

looks like the oldest is real happy, walking away with both guns, that way little brother can not out do him again :) I am sure he is just helping little bro out by carrying the gun while his picture is being taken.

Great pic. Love that smile. Last year was hunting with my son and my dad opening day. We stopped to clean some birds and heard some roosters cackling over the hill. My son asked if he could go after them and we told him to go while we cleaned the birds. A few minutes later we heard to shots and a woohoo out of him. He came walking back to the truck with the bird in one hand and his gun in the other and a very similar smile to the one your son has in the pic. Made my whole weekend.

That was the first bird I ever heard referred to as a "land mine!" haha, I still chuckle about that one. Was a good shot though!
