Ellendale ND vs. Aberdeen SD

I never hunted in North Dakota before and would like to plan a Pheasant hunting trip in early December. Would like to cross a North Dakota trip off the list. I will be traveling from Michigan and like to leep it to about a 16 hour drive. I've hunted throughout South Dakota with plenty of public land to hunt. With the new electronically posted land in North Dakota lighting up my OnXmaps is there still ample opportunities to hunt public land around Ellendale or is it better to hunt South Dakota. Not looking for someone's Hotspot. I like getting out and doing boot work. Any comments about hunting this area appreciated!

Since SD is not open to public on private land, ND isn’t a disadvantage with all the E posted land. U can hunt at sunrise, maybe 30 minutes prior in ND…which can be cold that time of year. U could do both states…I don’t know #’s in either location, both should be decent…should be some wpa’s, plots, gpa’s, etc near ellendale…just looked, yeah, in a 50 mile radius, definitely some public land of various types…call game warden in both states once season opens…may help.

Thanks! I know it could be cold, but it's the time I could get off work. Plus less hunters that time of year.
