Jeff, when did you purchase your 2502?
The reason I ask is that very early on, I want to say the first year they were introduced, there was an issue with the batteries that came on the 2500 series. I know a breeder who was then a pro staffer for Dogtra and he steered me away from them early on. At that time I had already been using the 2002 T&B unit, but he commented about staying away from the newer 2500 series till they get the bugs out.
Since then I haven't heard of any issues on the recent 2500 series collars and most people seem to like them??
By the way my 2002 T&B is literally bullet proof and have had it since 2006. No issues whatsoever and only last September did I send it in for the first time to have the batteries replaced with new ones. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin....
P.S. Before you go the TT route take a look at DT Systems. That is one unit the Pro Staffer friend recommended if going to a new collar. This one here is comparable to the 2502: http://www.gundogsonline.com/dog-tr...-and-beep-training-collar-two-dog-system.html
They have a unique feature called "Jump and Rise" which for training purposes could be quite useful.

The SPT 2432 Systems use the revolutionary technology call "Jump & Rise". DT Systems has pioneered this new training method to help trainers during those times when they need more flexibility. The "Jump" technology allows trainers JUMP to the next stimulation level which allows for added stimulation at the touch of a button. No more fumbling for that next level of stimulation, keep your eyes on your dog and control the situation. The JUMP feature is also useful in emergency or situations when your dog is not responding to normal stimulation levels. The RISE stimulation increases stimulation gradually until the button is released. This allows the trainer to hold the Rise button until they notice a response from the dog, essentially allowing the dog to choose the appropriate level of stimulation.
