Dumping mud

IMG_3870.jpeg
Brought a bucket today, to sit on to change clothes after church, ate to many almonds yesterday. Came quick! Tire was the TP holder

did you bring the bucket home? I also carry two zippered plastic bags... nobody wants to step in your sh*t, just sayin...

I had to dump some the other day in the middle of the road. Not usually my style. I grabbed a hold of the hitch leaned back and took care of it. Backed up straddling it so my dog wouldn’t be tempted to get into it when she got out of the box.

The 8 Rules of "Dumping Mud"

Rule 1:
You do NOT talk about Dumping Mud.
Rule 2: YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT DUMPING MUD.
Rule 3: If someone yells “Hey, I’m over here!” or a pheasant flushes near your spot, it’s over. Relocate immediately.
Rule 4: Only one person in the area at a time. This includes the sacred five-gallon bucket. Sharing is NOT caring here.
Rule 5: Handle your business one "session" at a time. Double dipping in the bucket is strictly prohibited.
Rule 6: No shirts, no pants, and boots are highly recommended especially when balancing on the bucket.
Rule 7: Dumping will take as long as it takes, but please be respectful of others who might be waiting for “the throne.”
Rule 8: If this is your first hunt with the group, you WILL eventually dump mud. Bucket or no bucket, it’s inevitable.

Pro tip: Always check the bucket for holes and pack extra TP.🧻. In my boat, we have one more pro tip. Never dry dump. Always put some water in the bucket first. Decreases the likely hood of skid marks and messy cleanups.

What about relatives like father-in-laws who have a habit of dumping mud in the field? What are the rules for them? Also is there a preferred method for "out-of-state" mud dumpers?

Had to laugh at this being at the top of the posts. I just did the sideways shuffle praying the pit toilets were open all year in a state park. Sure is windy out there…..

After my father in law emptied the boat bucket on the opposite side of the boat so my controlled drift ran my drift sock right through it, I have learned to stay far far away of him. As for out of staters, have them repeat rule #1!

You guys are making me think I’m missing a key part of ones pheasant hunting arsenal by not packing an orange bucket in my hunting gear! 😂

It's in my truck every trip

Or, if you want to get all Gucci you could get one of these for your new Suburban.

When I know I’ll have to dump mud in the great outdoors I’ve got a bucket w/seat that I’ve cut the bottom out of. Dig a cat hole with the etool and set the bucket over the hole. If the mud sneaks up on u then u just gotta make do with what is available.

If you drive a suburban you would use one.
