Anyone ever bought any pants from Duluth trading? I've been thinking about getting a pair of the fire hose pants for upland hunting. Had a friend from Montana recommend them. He said to get the ones with the DuluthFlex as they have 3% Spandex and are more comfortable. Looking at the DuluthFlex Fire Hose Jeans or the DuluthFlex Fire Hose Logger pants with the double chaps.

Ive recently bought a couple pairs of firehose pants. Its a really bad thing that they opened the outlet store in Oshkosh, which also carries new stuff too. I looked at the flex pants also but if I recall, the flex are a 8 oz pant and the regular firehose is 11.5 oz pant? I think.. The flex are noticably thinner. I dont have any real world feedback yet on wearability. Everything appears to be built tough. I really like the shirt-jac too which can be had for <$50 right now.

I've worn a pair of the "standard" firehose cargo pants for ~ 4 years for work. They have held up reasonably well. The major wear and tear I have so far is the bottoms are just starting to fray and I've worn a hole in the rear pocket where my wallet resides. They have shrunk and I had to go a size bigger in the beginning. They're worth it, IMO, and I wouldn't hesitate to wear them upland hunting compared to a regular pair of jeans.

I bought the fire hose upland pants last season and they didn't make it through the season. They are too thin and got some holes and cuts, rendering them unwearable. They are very comfortable, but for the price, they aren't durable enough.

I only use the firehose pants to hunt with and love them. They have held up through two seasons of grouse and pheasant hunting with no issues. I do. It wear chaps and rarely have a thorn make it through. Not sure exactly what model I have, as they were Christmas presents.

You do or do not wear chaps??

Are we talking about the same pants? Theres nothing thin about firehose pants. Their flex pants are thinner

There are quite a few styles (fabric weights). I found a lighter pair I liked, but decided I could not pay that much.

I still like an old pair of jeans for most outdoor activities including hunting (when dry).

If you are ever in the Twin Cities - there are two stores. Web site says they are opening a new store in Sioux Falls.

I've heard the upland pants mentioned someplace else but I cannot find them on their web site. Do you have a link for them?

Duluth trading?
Is there a store in Duluth?
I live not far from there.
Just sayin.

Yes there is a store in Duluth. Check it out.

No. I was merely providing a link for Zeb as he couldn't locate them on the website.

They do look like they might be decent upland pants though. My only question with any of the firehose pants is they may have to have the leggings waterproofed for wet grass etc. They say water repellent facing, but I've heard that before.

I've been looking for years for the perfect pair of upland pants. I've come to believe that they don't exist.

Yeah, I don't know about the perfect pants. There are some good ones, just depends on how much you want to spend and how hard you are on them.

Some don't care for them but I've had good luck with Wrangler upland pants.

Made a first time visit to the Duluth Trading store today (Fridley MN.) about a 25 mile drive. Looked for the Fire hose Briar pants and was told they don't stock those in house, so I Ordered a pair. I did try on a pair of the Duluthflex fire hose logger pants for size which are similar, but without the leg facing. If you order in the store you get free shipping to your home.

The logger pants actually weren't bad and probably would have been ok as well. I'll let you know how I like the Briar pants...

P.S. A guy could spend a fortune in that store. Very impressed.

Here's the Briar pants
